Ryedale artist, Kate Siddle, has been awarded a prestigious £1000 Art Prize, sponsored by Carter Jonas, for the best body of work in the 2013 Great North Art Show.
Artist Kate Siddle, who has a studio at The Sawmills Studios in Helmsley, was selected by judges Simon Palmer, a former Royal Academy judge and Jane Sellars, the doyenne of the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate and celebrated contributor to BBC 4's 'Front Row'.
Kate, who describes her abstract paintings as a response to the landscape she inhabits, comments: “I am absolutely delighted and surprised to hear that I have won the Carter Jonas Prize!”
The prize was awarded by David Nobbs at the Private View on 30th August.
