Great North Art Show shared Dionne Swift : Textile Artist's post. ...
Over recent years I have been working on a community project...we now need a second artist.... Textile Artist/Tutor Stitched Together is a textile project working with military and civilian communities across North Yorkshire. It is run by Rural Arts in partnership with the Army Welfare Service. This is a two-year project and we are looking for a freelance textile artist to work with our lead artist Dionne Swift for the second year. You will have the opportunity to develop your own artist practice in response to the project and be part of an exhibition but more importantly build on and push on the artistic boundaries of the textile groups. The post will deliver 20 days of teaching between Jan – Jul 2017 on average 2 days a month. Day rate for teaching is £175. You will also be paid at the same rate for 5 days to develop your own piece of work. You own transport is essential and a travel allowance will be paid The successful candidate will have and interest in military textiles and some experience in community project work. A teaching qualification would be an advantage. For more information about the project so far please go to stitched-together.org/blog/ Please email [email protected] for more information and how to apply.
