NiddFest 2016

Set in the glorious landscape of Upper Nidderdale, NiddFest celebrates the link between nature and books. The festival takes place on the weekend of 5-7 August and features some of the UK’s finest writers whose work is all linked to the natural world. Speakers include poets Carol Ann Duffy and Imtiaz Dharker, environmentalists Satish Kumar and Tony Juniper, nature writers John Lewis-Stempel and Nick Davies, garden writers/broadcasters Christine Walkden and Noel Kingsbury, authors Ali Shaw and Adam Feinstein and music from Kathryn Williams and the Barrowband.

For younger festival-goers we are hosting a recreation of Wilfred’s birthday party (from the Brambly Hedge books) in our riverside tent, plus a big draw with Helen Stephens, nature games with Hattie Garlick and additional den building and wild art half days.
NiddFest patron Carol Ann Duffy described NiddFest as “an important festival, allowing writers and readers to celebrate nature and literature in a particularly beautiful part of England.”
