Great North Art Show is delighted to showcase a collection of fantastic sculptures that have been created by the members of Vision Support Harrogate District.
Vision Support is a local charity that provides opportunities for local visually impaired people to engage in arts and crafts, receive IT training and take part in leisure and social activities.
In addition to activities in the Centre, Vision Support provides advice and support to local people who are experiencing sudden loss of, or deteriorating, eyesight. Vision Support undertakes home visits and runs a telephone befriending service to help tackle social isolation.
It is vitally important that those affected with sight loss are assisted and encouraged to develop dexterity skills and achieve positive outcomes, working with clay and producing sculptures is one way of enabling the artists to reach these goals.
