What’s your background?
Having studied textiles as my main course during teacher training in the mid 70’s, I decided to focus on bobbin lace. I learned traditional lace techniques from my mother and began to adapt patterns and create new designs. Experimentation and design work then became my passion.
Explain what you do in 100 words.
I create pieces of contemporary art by adapting the techniques of traditional bobbin lace.

Bold, strong, simple, meticulous, precise.
What are you working on at the moment?
My response to Mount Grace Priory, a sketch in black wire for an exhibition there in 2017.
Which three artists most inspire you?
Milca Erimiasova, Albrecht Durer, Leonardo da Vinci.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
If it looks right, it is right.
